Responsibilities:

• Use sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces by removing paint, rust, dirt, and other materials.
• Ensure that surfaces are properly prepared for the applying of protective coatings.
• Operate sandblasting equipment according to safety guidelines and work requirements.
• Perform regular maintenance on sandblasting equipment to ensure proper and safe operation.
• Manage abrasive materials used in the sandblasting process, such as sand or granules.
• Ensure an adequate supply of materials is available.
• Clean, prepare, and treat surfaces for painting, ensuring they are free of dirt, grease, and rust.
• Apply paint using spray guns, brushes, or rollers according to specifications and work requirements.
• Ensure that all coatings are smooth and free from defects such as lines or bubbles.
• Follow all safety regulations, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, gloves, and safety glasses.
• Ensure the work area is properly ventilated and free from hazards.
• Maintain accurate records of sandblasting operations, including prepared surfaces, materials used, and completion times.
• Keep the sandblasting and painting areas clean and ensure safe disposal of debris and used materials according to regulations.
• Clean and store equipment properly after each use

Educational Qualification & Work Experience:

• Vocational Centers / vocational training in sandblasting, painting, and preparation of industrial surfaces.
• 1-3 years of experience.

Professional Certifications and Training:
• Training related to surface preparations, sandblasting and industrial coating.
• Accredited certification from NACE or SSPC in an advantage

Required Knowledge:

• Knowledge of Sandblasting Materials:
o Understanding the different types of abrasive materials used in sandblasting and how to select the appropriate material based on the surface type and project requirements.
• Knowledge of Surface Preparation Techniques:
o Familiarity with sandblasting techniques to prepare various surfaces, including removing old paint, rust, and impurities to ensure a clean surface ready for subsequent applying like painting.
o Knowledge of efficient painting applying methods.
• Knowledge of Sandblasting Equipment:
o Understanding how to operate and maintain sandblasting equipment, such as compressors and spray systems, ensuring that all equipment is functioning correctly.
• Familiarity with Safety Standards:
o Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to handling abrasive equipment, ensuring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks and protective glasses to shield from hazardous particles.
• Knowledge of Industry Standards:
o Understanding the industry-specific quality standards for surface preparation through sandblasting and adhering to them to ensure high-quality results.
