Responsibilities:
• Perform required laboratory tests and analyses using appropriate methods and techniques, following work procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Prepare a specific schedule for testing intervals based on production schedules and quality requirements.
• Identify required samples for testing based on internal laboratory needs and production requirements.
• Properly prepare collected samples according to specified procedures, including appropriate storage conditions and accurate labeling.
• Provide guidance on selecting appropriate sampling locations based on points of interest and their impact on product quality.
• Accurately analyze results, evaluating them against specified standards and technical specifications.
• Document all results accurately and systematically, preparing the necessary certificates and reports.
• Prepare chemical solutions according to the required chemical composition and specified concentrations, ensuring the balance of standard materials using approved methods and techniques.
• Operate equipment and devices, performing calibrations as per work and calibration instructions.
• Implement laboratory procedures and take corrective measures when necessary to ensure worker, equipment, and environmental safety.
• Monitor periodic samples and analyze them using specialized devices such as TOC, ICP, FIAS, and FOSS.
• Prepare all requirements for shipping samples, including third-party quality control samples and quarterly test samples, adhering to approved international guidelines and standards to ensure sample representation and analytical result accuracy.
• Prepare and handle customer samples per specified requirements, considering factors such as storage methods and required tests, ensuring samples are ready for timely delivery for analysis and evaluation.
• Retain final product samples to assist with and evaluate customer complaints per applicable procedures.
• Monitor the quality of storage tanks for final products, including conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance with industrial standards and environmental regulations. This includes monitoring tank conditions (e.g., leaks, corrosion, temperature, gas pressure) and ensuring the integrity of pipes and valves. Additionally, technical inspections and analysis of samples taken from tanks ensure the quality and purity of stored products.
• Ensure compliance with implementing the ISO 9001 quality system and the ISO 14001 environmental system within the department by adhering to approved procedures and policies.
• Adhere to standards for the use and consumption of laboratory materials, ensuring effective utilization and optimized consumption in laboratory operations.
• Record the usage of laboratory materials, including consumed quantities, purposes, and related areas.
Skills Description
Educational Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Laboratory Science, or any related field.
Work Experience:
• 3-5 years of prior experience working in a laboratory environment.
Professional Certifications and Training:
• Certified laboratory techniques certification is a recognized additional advantage.
• Safety training certificates are considered an additional advantage.
• Training in various chemical analysis techniques.
• Certificates in quality management, such as Quality Management certification, are an additional advantage to enhance skills in quality control and process improvement.
• Risk management training to understand and assess potential risks in laboratory work and develop effective strategies to address them is considered an additional advantage.
Required Knowledge:
• Understanding of Basic Principles of Chemistry and Natural Sciences.
• Knowledge of various chemical analysis techniques.
• Understanding of laboratory safety principles and precautionary measures to maintain personal and environmental safety.
• Familiarity with local and international regulations related to health, safety, and the environment, and adherence to them.
• Knowledge of quality management concepts and ensuring quality in the laboratory, including processes related to quality control and assurance.
