Therefore, we announce an opportunity for the position of OU Mechanical Engineer we offer this distinctive opportunity to work in a stimulating and professional environment, where you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency of plant operations by conducting regular equipment inspections, coordinating maintenance activities with production teams, and managing documentation. The role oversees specialized repairs, ensures compliance with safety standards, and trains the maintenance team. Responsibilities include failure cause analysis, providing technical support, and leading major maintenance operations. This role is vital for maintaining equipment efficiency and enhancing productivity.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular visits to plant equipment and machinery to proactively identify and address potential issues.
• Collaborate with production and planning teams to schedule maintenance operations and activities, minimize production downtime, and assist planners and schedulers in preparing detailed work plans based on site visits, maintenance best practices, equipment operation and maintenance manuals, and approved engineering standards.
• Maintain documentation of maintenance activities and operations, including monthly reports, repair logs, and equipment history records.
• Coordinate with external service providers and contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance, including defining and explaining the scope of work, ensuring availability of required materials and spare parts, and following up on execution to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards during maintenance activities.
• Train and guide the maintenance team to enhance their skills and knowledge in plant maintenance.
• Perform root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure departmental goals and performance indicators are achieved.
• Provide technical support to the maintenance team, procurement team, and project team as needed.
• Recommend design modifications to reduce equipment failures in coordination with the concerned departments.
• Review mechanical drawings and equipment design calculations with the relevant departments.
• Participate in identifying procurement needs for parts, materials, and equipment for the maintenance department in coordination with supervisors and maintenance planners.
• Lead major maintenance operations, including preparation and planning with planning and operations teams, ensuring availability of spare parts and materials, and overseeing the execution and testing/inspection activities.
• Follow up on continuous improvement projects.
• Monitor Management of Change (MOC) requests and related tasks such as updating mechanical drawings, isometric drawings, and following up on implementation.
• Follow up on incident reports within the work scope and associated corrective actions.
• Design, review, and regularly update maintenance procedures related to the scope of work.
Skills Description
Educational Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Certifications and Training:
• Advanced training courses in preventive maintenance and technical analysis related to maintenance.
Work Experience:
• 1–3 years of experience working in the field of mechanical engineering.
Required Knowledge:
• Deep knowledge of the principles and concepts of mechanical engineering, including design and analysis of mechanical systems using engineering tools and software.
• Knowledge of local and international engineering regulations and standards for mechanical engineering and compliance with them.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methods for equipment and machinery.
• Understanding of engineering standards related to mechanical systems and environmental legislation.
