Job Description

Therefore, we announce an opportunity for the position of Pipe Fitter. we offer this distinctive opportunity to work in a stimulating and professional environment, where you will be responsible for performing mechanical tasks as a Pipe Fitting Technician, including the installation of new pipes, pipe assembly, disassembly, installation of equipment, and assembly and disassembly of equipment. All tasks must be performed correctly, safely, and with high quality in the shortest time and at the lowest possible cost, in a planned manner. Additionally, all results should be reported to the Maintenance Shift Supervisors or as required, and the worksite must be organized after each shift.

Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical tasks related to the installation, assembly, disassembly, and repair of pipes and support systems for all types of pipes.
• Pipe installation work includes the installation, modification, and repair of both new and existing piping systems and equipment.
• Pipe Fitting Technicians work from construction plans, diagrams, and drawings to plan and determine pipe routes, installation, slope, elevation, pressure reduction, expansion, and operation of various piping systems and equipment.
• Read and understand drawings, isometric drawings, workshop fabrication drawings, and mechanical diagrams.
• Select pipe size and type, as well as materials and related equipment such as supports and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
• Assemble and install piping systems, including metal pipes, PVC, FRP, plastic-lined pipes, and glass-lined pipes using torque wrenches according to maintenance procedures.
• Cut pipes using hand saws, reciprocating saws, grinding tools, cutting torches, and pipe cutting machines. Thread pipes using a threading machine.
• Connect pipes using threading, welding, brazing, soldering, or clamping, and hand tools.
• Secure pipes to structural supports using various support systems and hand and power tools.
• Install and maintain compressors, pumps, and piping systems using hand and power tools, following specifications and drawings.
• Lift loads using hoists, cranes, ropes, and other lifting equipment.
• Test piping systems for leaks by pressurizing pipes and monitoring gauges attached to the pipes for leakage.
• Fabricate and weld pipe supports to secure pipes to structural supports.
• Operate machines such as forklifts, scissor lifts, etc., to lift parts and materials.
• Perform accurate measurements using tools such as tapes, calipers, etc.
• Implement mechanical maintenance department policies and procedures to ensure the safe and proper execution of maintenance activities and equipment operation.
• Comply with maintenance and safety procedures within the mechanical maintenance department.
• Assist mechanical technicians with field activities and workshops, working under the supervision of technicians or manufacturers.
• Execute work according to the daily or weekly maintenance plan and schedule.

• Work efficiently and with high quality to increase overall equipment efficiency (OEE) and enhance the safety environment.
• Participate in maintaining cleanliness in the workshop and factories to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
• Pipe Fitting Technicians frequently handle parts and equipment weighing up to 23 kg.
• Participate in preparing maintenance reports and maintaining records of repairs and inspections.
• Technicians must be capable of wearing full personal protective equipment (PPE) for chemical materials.

Skills Description

Academic Qualification:
• At least a high school diploma ("Tawjihi").


Professional Certifications and Training:
• A vocational training certificate is an additional advantage.


Work Experience:
• At least 1-3 years of experience in pipe and equipment installation.


Required Knowledge:
• Technical knowledge of maintenance systems and pipe and equipment installation.
• Knowledge of specialized tools and equipment for maintenance and installation.


Skills and Competencies:
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and diagrams.
• Ability to diagnose faults and identify root causes.
• Experience in using specialized tools and equipment.
• Ability to organize the worksite and maintain cleanliness and order.
• Good computer skills.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Build strong collaborative relationships and work as a team.
• Good experience in pipe installation work.
• Good experience using electrical tools such as grinders, drills, and welders.
• Good communication skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read drawings, schematics, and manufacturer instructions.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Good experience in mechanical maintenance, including pipe and fixed equipment maintenance.
• Skill in using oxygen and acetylene.
• Skill in using various types and sizes of grinders and electrical tools.
• Skill in pipe installation and using installation machines.
• Knowledge of torque wrenches and other hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Reading and writing in Arabic is mandatory.
• English language skills are an additional advantage.
• Good problem-solving skills, especially in the field of pipe installation.
• Planning and time management skills.
• Knowledge of international safety practices is an additional advantage.
