The role includes designing processes for improvement and expansion projects, as well as monitoring quality to ensure effective chemical engineering activities.
In this role, you will contribute to developing ongoing processes to achieve the company’s production and quality objectives, while working on reducing costs and energy consumption in line with engineering standards, environmental regulations, and health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Setting the department's objectives, plans, and orientations in alignment with the company's improvement and development strategies, its strategic directions, and to serve expansion projects, while following up on their achievement.
- Developing initiatives to enhance sustainability, save energy, manage hazardous waste, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations, followed by overseeing their implementation through internal departments for process design and continuous improvement.
- Managing the company’s energy and water management systems to track energy usage and propose projects and modifications for energy savings.
- Engaging with the strategic partner Albemarle and external entities such as regulatory bodies, suppliers, and customers to support the achievement of the department’s and company’s objectives.
- Evaluating new technologies and innovations in the field of process design and operational improvement, and proposing enhancements and updates.
- Monitoring the results of the continuous improvement department and the process design department, receiving developmental proposals, reviewing and approving them, and setting priority plans in line with the company’s directions and budget.
- Developing and monitoring key performance indicators to track the effectiveness of improvement initiatives and taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Managing the methodology for controlling and overseeing the process design in accordance with adopted engineering standards.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant technical, industrial standards, regulations, and laws.
- Continuously following up with operational department managements to ensure and achieve continuous improvement goals, develop process design projects, and align them between the concerned departments.
- Monitoring expansion projects and ensuring that internal teams adhere to project plans and achieve them as required.
- Managing the development of the department’s policies and procedures to ensure the safety and health of employees’ activities and the proper operation of equipment.
- Managing development initiatives for the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) indicator.
- Providing support and advice as needed for reviewing necessary change procedures (MOC) for modifications, improvements, and their approval.
- Managing department operations according to the safety management policy in the operation process, achieving the highest operational performance efficiency, reducing costs, and aligning with the sustainability principle.
- Exercising authorities in accordance with the Delegation of Authority (DoA) matrix to ensure tasks are performed correctly.
Skills Description
Educational Qualification & Work Experience:
Academic Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 18 years of experience in the industrial sector, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Professional Certifications:
The following training and certifications are considered an added advantage:
- Certified Process Design Professional.
- Project Management Professional (PMP).
Required Knowledge:
- Knowledge of industrial sector process design.
- Knowledge of control and monitoring systems for industrial sector processes.
- Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
- Advanced knowledge in plant operations and management.
- Advanced knowledge of international safety practices
- Deep knowledge of industrial standards, environmental regulations, and safety regulations.
