Responsibilities:
• Perform welding tasks on various materials, including steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and others using different welding techniques.
• Cut using oxy-acetylene, plasma cutting, and drilling.
• Ensure welds meet quality standards and specifications provided by the maintenance supervisor.
• Conduct regular maintenance inspections on plant equipment to identify and repair welding-related issues.
• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts in machinery, ensuring reduced downtime and improved performance.
• Collaborate with maintenance technicians to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to plan welding tasks.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure the workspace is free of hazards.
• Stay updated on industry standards and best practices in welding safety and techniques.
• Maintain welding equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
• Conduct routine checks and troubleshoot minor issues in welding machines and tools.
• Maintain an organized workspace and ensure all tools and materials are properly stored.
Skills Description
Educational Qualification & Work Experience:
• High School Degree.
• 1-3 years of experience working in welding.
Professional Certifications and Training:
• Specialized Vocational Training in Welding.
• Valid Pipe Welding 6G Certificate by an accreditation firm
Required Knowledge:
• Knowledge of how to operate and maintain various welding equipment.
• Extensive knowledge of welding safety protocols and procedures.
• Familiarity with the properties of different metals such as steel, aluminum, stainless steel.
• Ability to handle various materials and understand their behavior during welding processes.
• Knowledge of preventive and routine maintenance procedures for equipment.
Skills and Competencies:
• Proficiency in various welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in welding tasks.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to work in various positions (standing, kneeling, etc.).
• Welding and cutting skills using various tools such as oxy-acetylene, plasma, and others.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Skills in handling heavy equipment and transportation.
• Ability to organize the work site and maintain cleanliness and order.
• Organizational and prioritization skills.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to build strong collaborative relationships and work in teams.
