Responsibilities:

• Perform welding tasks on a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, and others, using different welding techniques.
• Carry out cutting using oxy-acetylene, plasma cutting, and drilling.
• Ensure that all welds meet quality standards and specifications provided by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Conduct periodic maintenance inspections on plant equipment to identify and repair welding-related issues.
• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts in machinery, ensuring reduced downtime and improved performance.
• Collaborate with maintenance technicians to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to plan welding tasks.
• Comply with all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment and ensure the work area is free from hazards.
• Stay up to date with industry standards and best practices in welding safety and techniques.
• Maintain welding equipment and ensure it is in good working condition.
• Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot minor issues in welding machines and tools.
• Maintain an organized work area and ensure proper storage of all tools and materials.

Educational Qualification:

• General Secondary School Certificate.

Professional Certifications and Training:

• Specialized vocational training in welding.

Professional Experience:

• 1-3 years of experience in welding.

Required Knowledge

• Knowledge of operating and maintaining various welding equipment.
• Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to welding operations.
• Knowledge of the properties of different materials such as steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and plastics.
• Ability to handle different materials and understand their behavior during welding operations.
• Knowledge of preventive and periodic maintenance procedures for equipment.

Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in various welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in welding tasks.
• Good physical ability and capability to work in different positions (standing, kneeling, etc.).
